Posted on April 4, 2011
TI announced it has signed an agreement to acquire National Semiconductor for $25 a share in a $6.5 billion transaction. The deal combines two leaders in analog semiconductors. TI has 30,000 analog products and National brings a portfolio of 12,000 analog products.
The transaction is expected to close in six to nine months. After the transaction closes, National becomes part of TI's analog segment, and sales of analog semiconductors will represent nearly 50% of TI's revenue.
