Poe AI Chatbot Platform Adds Revenue Model
Posted on April 10, 2024
Poe is a platform for multiple chatbots. The company is owned by Quora. The site also enables users to build their own chatbots.
Some of the AI models available on Poe include ChatGPT, GPT-4, DALL-E 3, Claude, StableDiffusionXL, PaLM, Gemini-Pro, Llama 2, Playground-v2 and Mistral-Medium.
TechCrunch reports that Poe has added a revenue-sharing program that gives bot creators a cut of revenues. The program runs on a price per message payment system.
Quora CEO Adam D'Angelo says on Twitter, "This pricing mechanism is important for developers with substantial model inference or API costs. Our goal is to enable a thriving ecosystem of model developers and bot creators who build on top of models, and covering these operational costs is a key part of that."
Price per message is now available for creators on Poe! (1/2) https://t.co/Rl1tbBg4EK

Poe says on its about page, "We will be doing our best to build Poe as quickly as possible so that everyone can benefit from AI as this incredible technology becomes available to the world."
One way to grow quickly is to pay people to create and develop stuff. That seems to be part of the plan with Poe's revenue-sharing program.
Information about how to create a bot on Poe can be found on the Poe for Creators section.
