Google Adds Animated Gifs to Image Search
Posted on March 19, 2013
Google has added a new feature to its Google images search that lets users search for animated images. If you select the "search tools" option inside Google Images and then select "Any type" you will see a pull down menu that lets you select only animated images. The images that come up will animate after you click on them.
Google says, "Gifs have been around since 1987 and have become the de facto standard for short animations on the web, from pony glitter text to grumpy cat memes." You can also find some interest images if you search keywords like "eyeroll" or "shocked." Or you can search a film like Mean Girls or Pitch Perfect to see the animated Gifs people have created.
