Apple Removes Useless, Expensive I Am Rich App
Posted on August 6, 2008
Silicon Alley Insider is reporting that the pointless $999.99 "I am Rich" iPhone app has been removed the iTunes App Store. All the stupid app did was display a red gem on the iPhone's screen.
The app's iTunes page says, "The red icon on your iPhone or iPod touch always reminds you (and others when you show it to them) that you were rich enough to afford this. It's a work of art with no hidden function at all."
Valleywag recounts some of the funny and cynical users comments lefts on the "I Am Rich" app listing. Meanwhile, Gizmodo and MacRumors are blogging about how Apple can remotely deactivate apps on your iPhone. They should remotely deactivate this one and refund everyone's money.
